folders

We’re happy to tell you about a new feature that will improve your Flipsnack experience. Until today, there wasn’t any great way to organize flipbooks in your account, but now you will be able to create folders to manage your collections.

Good news, right? This is particularly useful for our users who have many flipbooks in their accounts.  Folders make it easier to find and to access your collections. Keep all collections from a category together in one handy spot!

The folders have been added to your dashboard area, or, as we call it, “My flipbooks”. You can add, delete and access your folders on  the left area of the dashboard.

How to organize magazines into folders. The functionality

To create a new folder click: “add new folder” and give it a relevant name. Next, drag and drop all the flipbooks that belong to that folder. It’s that easy!

how to make folders

To edit the name or the folder, click on the pencil icon that appears on mouse rollover. To delete the folder, click the bin icon. You should know that by deleting a folder you will not delete the contents of that folder. If you want to delete your flipbooks as well, you will have to do that manually.

When you click on one of your folders it will reveal all the flipbooks that it contains. To exit the folder, click on “All my flipbooks”

It’s important to know that these folders will not show up on your profile. They exist only for helping you organize your flipbooks in the dashboard, so it will be easier for you to find them later.

We think this is a great idea for those of you who create catalogs on behalf of multiple clients. This way you can create a folder per client. Another great way to make the most of this if you publish a lot of magazines, is to organize them into yearly or monthly folders. I’m sure you can think of many other ways to make the most of this new feature.

And now it’s up to you. You can start organizing your flipbooks into folders right now. Or, you can go for a virtual shelf to show off your magazine collections on a single widget on your site
