Today we are featuring an interview with Zipeng Zhu, art director and graphic designer. His style is exuberant, colorful, “a razzle-dazzle musical”, as he would describe it. He did an internship with Paula Scher and got hired by Sagmeister & Walsh just before graduating. We’re super impressed by his resume, so we felt honored when he agreed to do the interview with us.
We all know how important first impressions are. In the modern world, companies and individuals often make the first impression through a digital rather than a direct presence – with their press kits. In this article, we’ve collected a number of free tools that will help you design a stunning press kit for a killer first impression.
To give your press kit a quality typeface, avoid using boring standard fonts. Instead, go for the visually appealing ones offered by online editors, or even create your own font. If you already have a brand font, you can leave it for titles and apply a well-matching font for the remaining text. Continue reading

Have you ever attended a boring presentation, where the speaker had many slides with an unattractive look? If you are a designer or a creative person, you probably promised yourself to never make the same mistakes.
Personally, I swore to myself I will never make boring presentations.
This month I had the opportunity to prove that, because one of my tasks was to design a presentation on Behavioral Data. The subject wasn’t familiar to me, and I was tempted to make something basic, but I challenged myself.
Here is what I find important to know when you want to design a creative presentation.
Most brands use Instagram for brand awareness and visual marketing. By posting beautiful, stylized shots or videos of your product, you can increase the likelihood of people leaving Instagram to search for the product in order to buy it. But chances are pretty slim. To be honest, there’s no easy way to shop from Instagram and it’s even harder (almost impossible) to track what sales were triggered by a post. Continue reading
Email is heavily used in marketing, because it works. It’s an efficient way to communicate a message and promote products. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy or that it always yields the same results, because it doesn’t. We all want to send better marketing emails, but there are many things that we need to take into consideration each time we prepare an email campaign. The learning process involves a lot of testing, tracking, tinkering, and reiteration. Continue reading
